Tim Lambourne has a finger in many delicious pies. He's worked on and around television screens for a decade: presenting, writing and directing. His unique sensibility and prose has made him the go to copywriter for some of New Zealand's biggest and coolest brands, while his relentless pursuit of both depth and story means his work, be it directing, photographing or writing, always has a fully realised vision, narrative and execution.
Born just outside of Auckland, New Zealand in 1988, he received a Bachelor of Communications Studies from AUT University in 2010. During his degree he travelled to the University of Missouri where he studied art photography under Joe Johnson.
In 2010 he and Joe Dowling launched theshutterpirates.com which one year later was the inaugural winner of the Concrete Playground Blog of the Year award. In 2012 Tim and Joe launched Paper Pirates, a travelling democratic photography exhibition which has been shown in Auckland (2012, 2013, 2017), Wellington (2017), Tokyo (2014), and New York (2015).
His first solo show, Tokyo Bloom, showed at Allpress Studios in Auckland, New Zealand in late 2015, and was commissioned for an encore showing at Precinct 35 in Wellington, New Zealand, in April 2016.
